Porsche delivers ‘driving’ event with a difference Porsche Golf Cup Australia Challenge

Australia. Porsche has delivered a premium sporting experience with a difference on Monday at its inaugural Porsche Golf Cup Australia Challenge.

Porsche hosted 116 of its valued golf enthused customers in an all-expenses-paid tournament at Royal Melbourne Golf Club’s picturesque West Course – ranked the number one course in the country.

The handicap competition featured five individual handicap categories over the world-class 18 hole course catering for customers from around Australia.

The worldwide Porsche initiative will see similar competitions held in numerous other regions around the globe with the winners of each to compete in the Porsche Golf Cup World Final held in Mallorca, Spain, in May, 2015.

Porsche Cars Australia Director of Marketing Toni Andreevski suggested the Porsche initiative was well received by the brand’s participating customers.

“You don’t usually associate Porsche with golf, though many of our customers share a strong passion for both. To be able to bring these customers together to play on Australia’s greatest golf course provides a truly invaluable brand experience,” said Andreevski.

“The inaugural Porsche Golf Cup Australia Challenge was great success and an initiative we will hold annually, allowing us to continually engage our customers who share a passion for sports cars and golf.

“All Porsche markets that have participated in this programme will send their finalists to the Porsche Golf Cup World Final in Spain, so well done to our five winning customers and best of luck when representing Porsche Cars Australia on the Mallorca fairways.”

In a money-can’t-buy experience, participants of the Porsche Golf Cup World Final will get the opportunity to play on the private Porsche family golf course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jnr on behalf of Hans-Peter Porsche, son of Ferry Porsche, ‘Alcanada’ is considered one of the best courses in Europe.
