New Black Edition 911 and Boxster modelsPorsche in the 2016 Model Year

Australia. Porsche Cars Australia (PCA) heads into the 2016 Model Year with two new sports car variants in the 911 Black Edition and Boxster Black Edition.

The new Black Editions bring additional standard specification over the base cars in the respective ranges and, as the names suggest, are available exclusively with black exterior.

The Black Editions are a perfect complement to the very successful 911 and Boxster GTS models introduced in the 2015 Model Year.

The new Boxster Black Edition is priced from $110,800 and has $15,000 of additional standard specification over the Boxster, including: 20-inch Carrera Classic alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), black painted rollover bar, auto-dimming rear view and side mirrors, sport design steering wheel, embossed Porsche crest on the seat head rests and door guards with ‘Black Edition’ logo.

Porsche’s 911 Black Edition is available in two body styles – Coupe and Cabriolet; as well as two drivetrains – rear-drive C2 and all-wheel drive C4. Prices range from $209,500 for the 911 C2 Coupe Black Edition to $240,000 for the 911 C4 Cabriolet Black Edition.

All 911 Black Editions have an additional $25,000 of additional standard specification over the Carrera models, including: full-leather interior, 20-inch 911 Turbo alloy wheels, LED head lights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), Park Assist front and rear including reversing camera, embossed Porsche crest on the front seat head rests and door guards with ‘Black Edition’ logo.

The new 911 Black Edition and Boxster Black Edition are on sale now across all Official Porsche Centres, with first deliveries expected in September.

PCA is also using the transition into the 2016 Model Year to enhance standard specification on further selected Porsches, as follows:

The appeal of the 911 Black Edition and Boxster Black Edition will ensure Porsche’s traditional two-door sports cars continue their strong sales success.

Last year 366 retails of the 911 were recorded – the sports car icon’s best sales year since 2007; while 211 versions of the Boxster were sold – the roadster’s second best sales number also since 2007.
