Borneo Bulletin | 21st February 2019

QAF Eurokars, the official importer and dealer of Porsche vehicles in Brunei, unveiled the all-new Macan during an intimate press launch recently, attended by prospective customers to highlight the refreshed designs and new features of the compact SUV.

During the event held at Porsche Centre Brunei, QAF Eurokar Sales Manager Ian Salleh revealed the latest features of the new Macan which includes engine performance.

The new Macan has been significantly enhanced in terms of design, comfort and driving dynamics, allowing the Porsche Macan to remain the only true sports car model in the segment.

It now comes with an efficient 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with improved combustion chamber geometry delivering a performance of 185 kW (252hp) and can go from zero to 100km/h in 6.5 seconds.

It also comes with Sport Chrono Package and can reach a top speed of 227km/h.

For the new Macan S, when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, it can reach speeds of 254km/h with acceleration from zero to 100km/h in just 5.1 seconds.

The compact SUV stays true to the Porsche design DNA with its latest facelift – the new three-dimensional rear LED light strip with integrated PORSCHE lettering giving it an even sportier appearance.

One of the innovations inside the Macan is a new dashboard that houses a 10.9-inch touchscreen of the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM), re-designed and re-positioned air vents and the optional GT sports steering wheel familiar from the 911.

Acting Deputy General Manager of Porsche Brunei Lahiru de Silva said, “Since its launch in 2014, the compact SUV has been a great success story for Porsche, with over 350,000 Macans delivered globally.

“The new Macan combines typical Porsche performance on any terrain, coupled with a high degree of everyday practicality that impresses and appeals to our customers in Brunei.

“Thus, we believe the new Macan will be even well-received with its new standard equipment and refreshed design.”
