With Porsche to the GreenTec Awards 2015 Cayenne S E-Hybrid and Panamera S E-Hybrid bring VIPs to the green carpet

Berlin/Stuttgart. The GreenTec Awards, Europe's biggest environmental and business awards, are again in 2015 the green social technology event of the year. The invited guests will roll up at the green carpet in the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid* and the Panamera S E-Hybrid*, as the sports car manufacturer from Zuffenhausen is once again taking care of the VIP shuttle for this year's gala on 29th May.

While for the last two years the guests were driven to the gala exclusively in the Panamera S E-Hybrid, the 2015 shuttle service is being expanded with the addition of the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. The latter has been on the market since autumn 2014 and underlines once more Porsche's unique expertise in plug-in hybrid technology, for with the 918 Spyder* super sports car, which also has a plug-in hybrid drive system, Porsche was the first premium segment manufacturer in the world to have launched three plug-in hybrid models.

With the 919 Hybrid, with which Porsche has again been appearing since 2014 in the World Endurance Championship and thus at races including the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, the sports car manufacturer also has a mobile test lab. With its complex technology, this is intended not only to make its mark on the racetrack, but also to supply valuable insights for the use of cutting edge technology in future production models. And thus there is even now already one clear winner from this involvement in motorsport: the Porsche customer.

The winners of the GreenTec Awards 2015 have also been decided and will be announced on 29th May in Berlin. However, no matter who ultimately holds the trophy in their hands, all the winners are united in the constant pursuit of improvement, because only in this way are top technical achievements and sustainability possible. And here Porsche sees itself as one with many other competitors, who submit entries for the GreenTec Awards. What is particularly impressive here is not only the widely diverse range of industries entering, but also that companies of different forms and size compete against each other.

About the GreenTec Awards

The GreenTec Awards are run to foster ecological and economical commitment and technological zeal. Unusually, initiators Marco Voigt and Sven Krüger are engineers, who work with great enthusiasm for social change. The GreenTec Awards are given in ten categories, for example in Energy, Communication and Recycling and Mobility. An array of high-profile ambassadors, including Rea Garvey, Michael Ballhaus and Nora Tschirner, support the awards.

In 2014, the company supplied around 190,000 new cars to customers all over the world and generated turnover of €17.2 billion. The operating profit was €2.7 billion, making Porsche one of the world's most profitable automotive manufacturers. In total Porsche AG employs around 22,400 people at 70 subsidiaries around the globe. The company's production sites are in Zuffenhausen (Boxster, 911, 918 Spyder) and Leipzig (Panamera, Macan, Cayenne). Development, design and motorsport are based at the Weissach Development Centre. With the Boxster, Cayman, Panamera, Macan, Cayenne and 918 Spyder, further model ranges have since established themselves alongside it. Porsche has led the way in plug-in hybrid drive systems as well: the company was, for example, the first manufacturer to use this technology in high-performance sports cars (918 Spyder), exclusive saloons (Panamera S E-Hybrid) and premium SUVs (Cayenne S E-Hybrid). And in the 919 Hybrid mobile test lab Porsche is already working in the World Endurance Championship's LMP1 class on the technology of tomorrow.
