The Porsche young driver concept, which began in 1997 with the first UPS Porsche Junior Team, is a successful model. Every one of the 21 junior racing drivers who raced with Porsche’s support as Porsche Junior in the one-make series, have made the grade as professional racing driver. Timo Bernhard (GER), Patrick Long (USA), Michael Christensen (DEN), Earl Bamber (NZL) and Sven Müller (GER) are Porsche works drivers today.
The Porsche Juniors selected receive a sponsorship contract with Porsche AG. Each contract is valid for a season. In addition to the financial support, all Porsche Juniors receive support and advice comparable with that of the internationally successful Porsche works drivers. This programme includes fitness tests with constantly adjusted training schedules as well as media training and sponsor appointments. A Junior coach is on hand as advisor for the Juniors and accompanies the drivers on their way to becoming a professional racing driver.
The juniors are free to select their team in accordance with a list of criteria defined by Porsche AG. The remaining budget required to finance the respective programme is also the responsibility of the Junior driver.
The Porsche Motorsport Junior Programme follows a single goal: training talented youngsters to become professional racing drivers. Find out more about the concept for young drivers.

The future of motorsports begins with our talented youngsters. A principle Porsche has adhered to since 1997. A like-minded partner from the very start was UPS - where speed, precision and dependability are valued no less than at Porsche itself. Result of the cooperation: the establishment of the UPS Porsche Junior Team.
ZF Friedrichshafen AG and Porsche enjoy a historic partnership at the highest stage. Nowhere else can ZF demonstrate the capacity of its components better than in motorsports. ZF cooperates with Porsche in the road car range, but also, together with Porsche, develops customized shock absorbers and racing clutches for the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and many international PorscheCarrera Cups. The experience gained in racing is used in research and development work for the automotive industry, providing many advantages for each and every Porsche driver.
The support of talented young drivers is especially important for ZF. Therefore, ZF supports not only the Porsche Motorsport Juniors, but also the recently established PorscheCarrera Cup Deutschland Talent Pool, which supports young drivers on their way into professional motorsports.
